Survey Results Revealed!
Last fall, Livability Project conducted a poll, both online and in person, to find out what people in our various communities are concerned about, where they like to shop, and where they spend their community time.
We are using the results of this poll to guide our activities, and also to create an online directory of locally produced and "green" products and businesses.
Here's a sampling from the results. Click here to read the complete results.
According to the poll, participants' top 4 environmental concerns are:
- Climate change
- Food safety
- Peak oil
- Energy
The products of most concern are:
- Petroleum-based products
- Plastics
- Food
- Cleaning products
The Livability Project services people prefer are:
- Workshops on permaculture and community gardening
- Neighborhood sustainability roadmaps
- Biodiesel stations
- Recycling programs
- CSA supported community dinners
And the LP green and sweatshop-free products people prefer are:
- Organic clothing
- Health and beauty products
- Housewares
- Documentary movie kits
Thanks to everyone who participated in the poll. We will let you know when the online green resources guide is available. In the meantime, please continue to send us your recommendations for local businesses, products, and services you'd like to see in your community.
