Action

How do we move toward building a more sustainable world? By practicing new ways of living through local action and long-term decision-making.  As we attempt to create more ''economic localization" and more livable communities, it is the successful use of our vision in action that builds the future we desire and makes it a reality. Over the last few years we have been busy running local action projects, including:

  • Pacifica Gardens: A plot of land designated for a community edible garden and center in Pacifica, CA.   Contact Melissa Moss.
  • EcoDepot Online Store:   Established 1/2002, Selling yoga products, organic clothing and green gifts.
  • COMMUNITY FEAST!: Established 12/2003, serving organic food on an "event" basis.  
  • Recycling Program: Three "Stuff Swaps" ...more to come.  Contact Recycle Works.

  • PacificCurrency:  Local Currency In draft form - June 2004. In the process of research and design.  Contact Kelley Rajala.
  • Solar Collective: 7 households purchased systems with Bay Solar Power Design - meters are running backwards!  Contact Mark Fallin.
  • Movie Nights: End of Suburbia, The Corporation, The Future of Food & Oil on Ice, etc. 
  • Talks & Lecture Series: Biodiesel, Peak oil, Socially Responsible Investing, Food /Nutrition, Energy Efficiency, Green Interiors, Permaculture, Residential Solar.  Contact Kelley Rajala.
