All of my adult life I have been watching these trends creep slowly toward us ...
- Peak Oil
- Climate Change
- Declining Health & Health Care
- Growing National Debt
- Reduced Quality of Life
- Precarious Centralization of Resources
- Disparity Between Rich & Poor
- Impact of AIDS and other diseases
- Erosion of our Freedoms & Rights
I have known that we cannot go on this way. But what could I do, as a measly little individual?
I had a strong desire to:
- Instigate change
- Take action, and
- Make a difference.
An answer finally came to me: We cannot wait for the government or other authorities to fix things for us. We must create change ourselves. Thus, in November of 2001, The Livability Project came to life.
In a nutshell, The Livability Project is an ongoing, evolutionary, set of projects related to all aspects of "livability" that can be implemented anywhere, at any scale.
So, as many other organizations started...we are growing from the garage-based, grassroots-style, self-funded enterprise...to...well, where we end up is really dependent on you.
We want to spread the Livability mission...Awareness — Vision — Action...to communities far and wide.
Please consider joining the Livability Project team as a member and an active participant in shaping the future.
In Hope,
Kelley
